Us Prophet-5/10 owners are doing just fine. But we appreciate your concern!
The Take 5 really does sound great, and can get very close to my Prophet-10. But my Prophet-10 remains my daily driver, in conjunction with the Moog Grandmother. I can get the sounds I like a lot quicker with the Prophet-10. I have 25 years experience with the Prophet-5, so I can focus on the sound and music, rather than learning a new synth. Plus, 5 octave keyboard, bigger controls, and no menu diving.
Honestly, anyone that is in the marketplace for a polysynth, I'd recommend the Take 5 without hesitation...unless you own a Prophet-5/10. It might be redundant in that case, due to the similarities in the basic sound qualities. For non Prophet-5/10 owners, the Take 5 is a screaming bargain. And the existence of the Take 5 doesn't take away from the inherent value of the Prophet-5/10 in any way.
